2nd January 2010, exams got over after ruining our New Year. But, to compensate this I went home the very same day. A heartiest of welcomes, which I desperately needed after giving 10 exams (thanks to 2 repeated papers I had to sit for again) in a span of 17 days. And to put my misery in a proper sentence, 4 papers in 3 days of which 2 were on the same day.

This, after I had given my ass, studying for almost 8 hours a day during exams (not on all days), 3rd semester onwards. But to my luck or should I say my hard work I got 66, 68, 58 and 55 in respective semesters, well below my heavy expectations, and thus I lost all the hope and aim to maintain an aggregate of 70 and above. The 58 and 55’s came with 2 backs,1 each time. DSP (which went on to become my biggest nightmare) and Micro Processors (to my luck). I was not able to clear DSP in 5th semester even after studying the subject to the best of my ability; Mr. VTU (my university) had set a paper wherein to my knowledge no one cleared from 12 who wrote the repeat exam. To my horror people called it degree stopping paper.

This paper fell between 2 regular papers of 6th semester (1st one I do not remember but 2nd will always be haunting me for a long time). And this was micro processors. Expecting 40 – 45 out of 100, I got 28. Putting it for a regular revaluation and then for a challenge revaluation did not help the cause. It caused many sleepless shivering nights, tension, and I started being superstitious, lost my diet (anorexic) and started losing faith in God. Then I started distancing myself away from my own friends who cleared all and others who cleared after reval results. I lost my confidence, and went out in search of new friends. Friends who were of my caliber, or in the same scenario as mine. I was a bozo now who continuously had pessimistic, cursing belief surging through his mind. People say I flunked in micro processor because I was tired after giving 2 exams in 2 days and then giving 3rd on the next day. But I can’t figure out the right reasons. DSP was my own mistake; I did not study properly and then did not write the paper with complete concentration. After 5th and 6th semester results I could feel the pressure and the pain which sparked through my bones each time the topic was discussed, during which time I preferred to stay away and stay calm and composed.

This time I have given both the exams again, but the fear is still there and it has escalated after I failed to clear Infosys written exam yesterday. The slightest hope of getting through was lost, when 4 of my so called friends were selected out of our group of 7.these companies do not allow current backlogs and I have 2. In Infosys I might have hidden my backs and gone through without getting caught. But, now I have to wait for my result before I can sit for another company, as they will definitely ask for my 6th semester mark sheets. And on failing to do so, they will check their own records. Results are expected anytime soon, and I expect to clear all. But there are some doubts for 1 paper(wireless communication). It was a atrocious paper, and I will pass if they allot marks for the questions out of syllabus.

Almost 300 have been placed; this has reduced the competition for the next companies. But, my frustration has grown varying inversely with competition. I do not have the courage to move out of my room and congratulate others who got through yesterday. Writing this should definitely help me move out of my nest and I appreciate one thing God has gifted me with, to control my frustration and my patience. But at the moment there are more things to pity about than appreciate. I write this to relieve my stress, show my anger and frustration and then at the same time to refocus myself, as someone has rightly said, “when you can not do anything then you should do what you like the best and suits you at that point of time.” Also, I appreciate the support shown by my family and some friends during my torrid times. I just hope that this faded color is restored as soon as possible and this squirming engineer’s tale has a new life.

THE TWO SIDES…

A wall has 2 sides, a coin has 2 sides, there are 2 sides to an individual and there are 2 sides to a fest(festival) ,college fest. On 1/3/09 we had our college fest – “UDBHAV” ,as per schedule it stretched on for the next 2 days as well. It is one and the only mega event of our college. Removing ambiguity in the above statement if any, I don’t mean to say that it’s a depressing, cheap scrap meant for the college bin. But, at the same time it is not a beautiful, breathtaking, throat thickening and some impeccable event like the one’s in IITs , BMS college, Bangalore , or Manipal , Delhi College of Engg , Delhi University , solely because of the monotonous low budget set by our college year after year. But if you have been a part of it then at the end of the day ,you will definitely have symptoms of hypersomnia even after some 10 hours of mega sleep and thirsty for more more and some more( consuming tens and twenties of red bulls does not help in such cases) , exhausted like dead beat , and completely broken down but still ready for more.

Being a part of the fest also has 2 sides to it. And since it’s been 2 consecutive years that I have been a part of it and having seen both the sides very profoundly I must confess “which ever side you are on, it does not matter. What matters is, are you in or are you out??” Last year was one of the best UDBHAV we had witnessed in years. Perhaps the most efficiently managed, most enthralling, most exciting, and feline and yet so on the top. In the year 2008 I was chosen to volunteer for the event, thanks to Java bhaiya. No, it was not a political entry but I had earned it with the right guidance from the experienced lot. From making charts, posters to crowd control to event management I witnessed and experienced it all. The shirts and the I-cards made especially for the college volunteers had put us more than 3 storeys above our colleagues but still 10 storeys below the rest. And I grabbed this opportunity with both hands, both legs and everything I found intact at that moment. This being my first time as a volunteer I neither expected nor got the opportunity to handle the best and the favorite events of the fest like personality, western acoustic and debate. But using my newly acquired volunteer power batch I got the opportunity to get inside the venue and bask the event with the ease of comfort. Personality was my personal favorite, with students selected on the basis of the form they were asked to fill earlier, though the already famous personalities are always a definite choice. They undergo tremendous wooing, tremendous pressure from the judge, eccentric humiliation and some really heated rounds to show of there metal. The meetings at 6:30 in the evening, free lunch in the afternoon, chanting Ramaiah song at the end of each day after the meeting, used to drain us out, and we were left with maybe a few joules of energy, more than enough for us to push us back to the hostel and rest in peace.

Placed lowest in the college hierarchy, with the least power to move across the volunteers to witness the events, waiting in queues to get entry into the venue halls, running all over the place to find the right venue for my favorite event - personality and if lucky enough, to find a vacant seat in the corner gives you an opportunity to be on the other side of the wall. Dancing in groups of hundreds, never ending debates over the fest, making comparisons with the previous ones, jumping over the audiences to get a glimpse of the main stage activities, using the free coupons supplied by our volunteer friends to have Chole-Bhature and red bulls, dressing up in the best outfits to impress others and getting free entry into the cameras. UDBHAV 2009 was also a grand success like all its predecessors, with very less crowd turning up on the first two days of the event, but almost everyone turned up on the last day. Western dance, folk dance, western bands and ILM- Indian music took a lot of toll on us, as we danced to the tune of everything we could hear. Though the weather was pretty hot and sweaty, it was not granted permission to enter the fest and interfere with the proceedings. At the end of the day, even the workers in the canteen were seen dancing and running around, obviously they had struck a record selling in our college. Left with a few joules of energy, more than enough for us to push us back to the hostel and go off to sleep and cognizably nothing to choose between the two sides after all!!!

INSPIRATIONS

Inspiration is what keeps our lives going

it comes with time,

it is created at times, sometimes it is with in us ,

we just need to dig it out at the right time, right place through the right paths!

slumdog milionaire or still a slumdog!!

So how was your new year's eve?? i had a wonderfull time , went for a dinner at Koramangala,Bangalore - Barbeque Nation and then after a few hugs and wishes retrieved back to my room. A late night movie till 5 A.M and thats it!!

An exceptional storyline , amazing acting from some of the best actors of Bollywood , choreography was too good and the kid ,man was he brilliant ? The movie with such a description can only be 'SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE'. Yes sir, i saw the movie, and that too on 31st December 2008. And the movie has not hit the theatres in our country-India. And the harder part is that it was there in my computer almost a week before that. The movie has been nominated for the oscars its super dooper hit in the U.S and the U.K and why not ? But the probability has just increased for it to go through as much losses as it has gained in other countries.

Open your internet browser, search for a torrent file for the movie on Google and there it is. Download the torrent and pull it inside the window of the u-Torrent software. No waste of time, no extra cash , neither fuel wasteage nor energy. And entretainment 100% . Guarenteed!!
Poor Anil bhai and Irfan bhai they must counting numbers and reaching billions, trillions and countables and uncountables but somene please tell them that 40% have already seen the movie. I cant even imagine the numbers going down after this narration.

A movie looses its meaning even before hitting the market, it is perhaps the most disrespectfull and embarrassing part on part of the director and for the other cast involved. Indian theatre showing a true Indian story which has been happening for years and still exists , made by Indian actors, with half the attendance is really embarrasing and homely injustice shown to the movie.

The Internet is both great and terrible. As a source of information, a tool for delivering music and art, it's great. But spamming ads and piracy of music is terrible. It's stealing.

-Gary Wright

A CUPID'S STORY!!!!

I love you, we love each other, i want to spend the rest of my life with you, we are made for each other, she does not deserve him...i think i am a better choice, we will be the most talked about couple in town, he loves me...he loves me not!!!! These are some lines quoted by two people who are in deep love or who will be in love or who love each other and are trying to figure out that one catchy line which would make or break there love life or who want to patch up after breaking up sometime ago. These are one big bunch that has existed in this world of love and terror from the time of Adam & Eve.

But have you ever wondered who is the middleman in the love life of your best friend who just got hooked up with the hottest female in town or your school friends who proposed in class 10th and are all set to get married anytime soon. Ya , almost 80% of the commited relationships bear the name of a middleman. ' GOD in the case of Adam & Eve '. And that can be a male or a female or in some cases even a she-male. And thank god, we have given a name to that middleman ,we call it with all due respect the 'CUPID'.

Its the cupid who has the time of his life when the other two are so nervous, broken, counting days, and spending time ideating both of them three years from now. But, Mr. cupid can't stop boasting about the two of them. He makes a mockery of the everyday comments and feelings the two share with him, narrates the daily updates from one person to the other, adds some 'mirch & masala' to the story to make it all the more exciting, raise and lower the tempo at the right times , gets free lunch , dinner breakfast and snacks and enjoys watching them grow nervous and more nervous after every passing day. But , basking is not all he does. He has to be on his toes everytime he deals with them, patiently listen to both of them and choose his words before speaking out. He has to calm them down ,as you never know when the temperature rises to the skies. He is the one who has to plan it out the first meeting , the place to meet, the second meeting ,the first line, the second place, first kiss, first hug......

But , the cupid's role is over the moment the first two or at most three meetings are a succesfull hit. Poor chap, he is thrown out of the whole love story as soon as it takes off and when the boy narrates it after three years ,the cupid is nowhere in the picture. When the two make love cupid is nowhere in the picture. when they meet up in coffee shops, bars, restaurants the cupid gets an invite the first two or maybe three times but then again he is nowhere in the picture. When they go on long drives poor cupid is again not there( oh, we forgot there are only 2 seats on a bike!!!).

So where does our cupid go after all this??? guess??? guess again??? He becomes the brother of the girl ,he helped get her guy. And the guy calls him " thanks yaar, you are my best friend". Hapless cupid just did one blunder , he never guessed the ending!!!!

ADVISORY : ' to all cupids out there, don't fall in love with the women you are helping out!!!! So this happened to me when i came to third semester. As usual i kept a low but confident profile in the class. I think they all knew me but it was me who did not know everyone in my class, even after spending one full year with them. I had a small group which mainly had north indian friends and a couple of south indian friends."differentiating between north and south indians was never in our 'almost' dead mind " But we used to have our share of fun. Corner house(ice cream parlour), lunch on BEL road, imitating our classmates and teachers, going for movies,CCD's ,Barista and playing football were our favourite passtime.

But then he happened....entered our group, entered our lives , and was soon a part of us. Someone brilliant with calculator, could have easily fucked your ear drum, endless topics to talk about ,no one could differentiate whether he was laughing or had an asthama attack , changed bikes (from motorcycle to scooty in a year and then he even sold his scooty),had a dog which was double the size of the person himself , forever jobless and always had some seniors advice on any topic we discussed. So this person got a year back in second year and joined us in third semester , so officially he was our senior, but we still called him Bhandari....Samrit Bhandari, obviously unofficially.

Ok so i have this habbit of 'not digesting people' in my life very easily. It takes weeks or maybe even months for me to know whether he can be a perfect friend or a perfect enemy. And it took me more than a month to get accoustomed to Mr. Bhandari. His excessive talking, stupid ideas, and unnecessary topics of discussions pissed me a lotin the beginning. But my friends who gradually became his friends ,definitely faster than me,introduced him into our group, and forced me to give him a second chance. He started coming to my room, we went to his, met his roommate ,planned outings and trips outside Bangalore(which never happened) and celebrated his birthday and finally he was one of us.Though his efforts of getting in and adjusting with rats like us should not be blown away.

Its been almost 2 months since he left, but he is someone we miss now , we remember him regularly ,we talk about him and reminisce everything which we did all this time. But,in this one year we spent with him, i will never forget the day our results came,he got an year back once again and decided to leave engineering and join his dad'sbusiness in Kolkatta. And i don't cherish this day because he decided to leave engineering ,leave Bangalore and leave us but because the way we watched Rock On!!! 'ya the movie' in a truely rocking style. I think it was one of the best days in my 2 years of engineering.

Though we made fun of him , pulled his legs , maybe he was just a pass time or friend with benifits or a foe.....but he was definitely a friend for life!!!!

GIR - some rock & some roll!!!

it was fucking amazing, fucking rocking, it was some ass kicking stuff, minblowing , and the list goes on. Yeah, i am talking about GIR fest - Great India Rock show. It was there in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. I happened to be here in delhi and so i happened to be there in Pragati Maidan. And they rocked, they absolutely rocked!!! Crowd was absolutely rocking , cheering applauding head banging singing humming moshing it was all there and in plenty!!!!

Amazing crowd, good open air theatre and brilliant stuff from the bands. What else do you want in the deep hours of the night(5 to 10 p.m). Bands like Freak Kitten, Hans, Krptos, Undying Inc, Them Clones, Scribe and Satiricon performed and they absolutely rocked. I have just come from the show and i must say i am spellbound. Good Night guys and keep rocking!!!!

These days i am so so happy. And it comes with reasons too . First of all, i am in Delhi, which rocks!!! Second i have seen Delhi like never before. Third i have been having such a wonderful food ' home cooked food ' ' street vendours all over Delhi ' 'cool restaurants ' and everywhere and anywhere. Fourth i have been keeping myself up to date on all the movies released during my holidays - 3 weeks time. and the list goes on......

I came on the day D.U welcomed it's 'futchas' - 15th July. My summer training which was predecided and was supposed to start on 17th finally started on 21st. Must say it is the most boring and stupid thing to do for an engineer before he sits for his\her placements. They say this gives you an edge over others, but i say this is just a waste of time and one dosent have to be doing all this for better chances of getting a job as this just gives you an idea - ' what kind of work takes place in an office and how people work there??? '

But as i used to pass through North campus i used to see all the D.U crowd strolling around in search of a mode of transportation which can help them get to there respective colleges. You can easily distinguish between the first years and the seniors. The intrigued faces of juniors and the 'don't care' faces of seniors was a propminant feature on there faces. Seniors taking there own bikes or cars to the college while ' futchas ' looking for autos and buses is a common site.

And as i used to take a bus on my way back home, i used to meet so many D.U students on the bus stops and in buses. And here i must say that they 'rock' , they have so much confidence , so quickwitted , impeccable dressing sense , and last but not the least women are really beautiful if not hot.

After the training used to get over at 2 p.m i used meet up school friends and usually we used to have lunch together or go for a movie. it was cool fun!!! Then on the weekends , i kept one day for my parents and the other day we had to meet up at some place. and yes one more thing i noticed on my trips to Cannaught Place or C.P - it's so damn easy ' ladkee patana '. Though i never tried my hands on them , but there were enough indications from there side.

Then i went to so many different eating outlets in old Delhi where one can't even imagine of it's existence. Everyday a different meal at a different place was really fun. With pastas , lasagna , pizza , chinese , italian , kebabs , chicken rolls being served to my tummy, for sure it is living a king's life .

Finally i would like to end this post by a thought which crossed my mind today during my usual bus travel . IIM claims that it needs students which have good managing skills but not those who have great cramming powers, because it's your confidence in managing people and work which matters the most and not your knowledge. So in that case , the bus conductors in the buses would make wonderful students!!!
(this thought is applicable for bus conductors in Delhi only because i have not witnessed conductors in other cities)

first's and the last's!!!

last time i was in Delhi was a month back. But in this one month so much has happened. Some were 1st and some were last....

1st....

this was the first time that i gave farewell to someone. yeah, a farewell. My state senior whose name is worth mentioning here , Mr. Chayan Jawa. Down to earth, happy go lucky, adventurous, polite, affable, assertive are a few words which may not describe him completely. But if i continue doing so, even the dictionary will fall short of words which may still not describe him completely.
This person spent his whole enginnering life in the hostel, and was the only person who knew each and every soul living there, by everyone i mean 'everyone'. He finally left Bangalore, hopefully for good. And yes we( my group) gave him a farewell at Chungs,Maleshwaram ,a chinese restaurant.
It was an emotional affair but then that was inevitable.

" wish you all the luck 'sir' "

last....

This was the last semester with my room mate. We were there with each other for 2 good years now. But then life says move on. i will definitely cherish these years of my life. Welcome new room mate.

1st....

VTU - my university sucks. And we all know that!!! Our exam which was to be on 26th was postponed to 15th. so now that my exams which were to be over by 5th july got over yesterday, 15th july. And i missed my brothers bithday. that sucks!!! but in these 10 days i got between the exams i saw my 1st english serial which is aird on star world - " One tree hill" . And tell you what it was simply amazing!!! now i plan to watch others too - " Prison break", "friends" , " " and many more.

last...

this was perhaps my last visit to this restaurant , another chinese one - Beijeing Bytes. First they served pathetic prawns and then bringing them dead in front of us ,after we complained of it, when we were still midway of our dinner. Perhaps worst dinner of my life.

last...

this hurts the most. I gave my last mathematics exam in college. It took me almost an hour and a half to reach the airport when i took a volvo from Majestic bus terminal. the bus service is pretty good and cheap, a bus every half an hour running 24hrs. a day. But i pity people coming from places as far as Koramangala and Forum. It would take them almost 3 good hours to reach this glassy place.

Though the main airport building is complete, it is a beautiful architecture of glass and steel. there is still a lot of construction happening near the airport, as the land around this place is like a baron island situated far far away!!!! But once i was in their it was an utter mess. No one had a clue on how one should proceed once they are inside . 48 check in counters of which only 20 operational made the job tough for the travelers. Till the very end i had no clue where should i go for the baggage checking , and when i en quired this from the airport staff they were like"sorry sir, even we are new here". After standing in the cue for more than 20 min. i finally reached the counter to collect my boarding pass. Escalators took me on to the top floor....wherein the security personal checked me and my laptop thoroughly. Inside this waiting lounge there were so many national and international outlets for shopping from clothes to bags there was everything on sale . And with one Cafe Coffee Day on the ground floor there was one restaurant and a Barista on the top floor. There was no synchronization between the ground staff and also between the ground staff and the airlines, which i came to know pretty late of course.

Flight scheduled at 17:55 finally took off at 19:30....between which i had a good night sleep in the airplane and spent more than half an hour in the lobby pondering at every corner of the airport. Pilots were completely disconnected with ATI staff which did not have our flight in the scheduled list for take off. So after waiting for 1 more hour we finally took off!!!

the next day the newspaper had a very similar story to tell!!!!

modus operandi.....

It was a cold windy evening, and i decided to take this road leading to the market place , though it was scarcely populated , and i like crowded places, but still. as i came out of my apartments main gate i met a friend though he is a small chap, 12 years old, but he definitely classifies to be there in my entourage. he noticed me first, loudly and clearly ,"hello bhaiya(brother)". i reciprocated back with a smile and a pad on his back. we talked about football , studies , his elder brother and the list goes on. he gave me company for a few minutes before he took left and i went to the right to our respective destinations. after walking a few more steps i met an uncle, yes i knew him very well, he lived on top of our house. he stopped and spent some time inquiring about my college and the place. i had to be really confident and on top of my toes as the kind of questions he popped in had to be dealt with some precision. even, his son was all ready to join some college there in Bangalore, so it had to be me.

after reaching the marketplace i bought a few chocolates and chips for myself!!! then i did a quick scan of the market. i continued my nomadic journey ,out of the market and onto the road. i headed for the next market which is quite close by and perhaps the better of the two.
as i turned right and was just gaining some speed i saw someone sitting on a bike and profusely waving his hand, as if to gain someone's attention or calling for help. but he seemed to be in perfect health and i could see no reason why he needed any body's help. so i paid no attention and walked on. then he shouted, and shouted my name. this was enough for me to divert my attention towards him.

oh ya!!! now i remember he was Monty , a friend from school. he had recently shifted here, and we were out of touch for almost 4 years . we exchanged a good healthy handshake and a big hug. inquired about each others studies, got his cell number , went for a small ride on his new bike and of course for the due treat for that bike he had bought a fortnight back. we went to Coffee day which was pretty close by. it was almost two hours i was out of my house now ,so after giving a call to my mom we sat there for a few more hours. after showing the periphery of his house he dropped me to my house. while returning home i got a call "we have a football match tomorrow". so tomorrow morning booked. and when it comes to football i am at the pinnacle of my emotions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you have gone through the above story it must be comparatively easier for you to understand what i write next.

"our brain is so insane
still we play those small mind games
sometimes we are boring and sometimes raring
but brain always keeps it ringing,
situations change so dramatically,
sometimes desolated and sometimes depressed
sometimes fortunate and sometimes jubilant
but the brain is always so resistant. "

" brain uses maximum energy in our body and we use only 3% of our brain, but as per recent study we use 100% of our brain but not all the time"

think what would happen if we were using 90 or maybe 100% of our brain continuously???
would our fragile body be able to keep a track of so enormous amounts of energy needed by our brain???
how many different emotions we would go through each passing day???
and what kind of world we would be living in if that was to happen???
.
.
.
.                                               <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" concentration and energy
or else you may end up using 90% of your brain!!!
perhaps, the modus operandi is to let the brain function as it normally does!!!

a sudden thought!!!

i remember ,during winters ,when i was a wimpy little kid my grandmother used to cover my head with a cap ,legs with a pair of socks and fingers with a pair of gloves. and she used to say "dont take them off, or you will catch cold". now that i have grown older, it seems :

as per our ancestors ' the perfect way to catch cold is to keep your sensitive body parts exposed'. but now that i have my own say in choosing and wearing my clothes, i think this is true only when our feet our bare and exposed to the freezing chill in the air. if your head and fingers are uncovered there is hardly any chance of you catching the cough and the cold!!!

i wrote this when temperature dropped to 4 degrees and my whole body was covered with woolens except obviously my head and my hand. i was sitting in open!!!
<img width='1' height='1' And perhaps the toughest being homesickness. Feeling isolated, being desolate, anorexia, going on long infinite walks ,shedding a few tears here and there are a few indications of you being in a dilema and suffering from nostalgia.

i was no exception when i left home for the first time!!! like everyone even i suffered from this disease and perhaps i had it more than anyone else. i must say this is perhaps the most grueling phase of life as you being an adolescent. all this while time seems to be the slowest moving body around you, and perhaps that is very true. sleeping early, messaging friends to kill time and extinguishing the fire of frustration , spending loads of time in my room as if being solitary confined ,going for long walks were a few tools i used during my illness.

But ,this backbreaking period took a long time to finally come to a halt. it's still there but it reoccurs as the days close by to the end of the semester. now that these jitters have reduced to a few occasions, i feel much more assertive now and perhaps back to my usual self. i won't be commenting upon how have i changed all this while but definitely you can't take back the fact that confidence which i lacked is back and back in a better yield!!!

cats doing the trick....meow!!!

First thing i do when i visit any city is check out it's radio stations !!!!
And the same is the applicable in the case when i visit and revisit my
hometown- Delhi. This time i have come for a month and having a great time here.....

As it seems to be, Delhi has got 12-13 radio stations in all. And after scanning through these channels for almost half a month i must say that they all are doing an awesome job out here.
But, the credit must not be taken away from perhaps the ever
growing network of the 'meow' community. Radio FM 104.8 - India's first for
women channel is doing a phenomenal job for the women citizens
of NCR and Delhi. Yes, this channel is only for the women in Delhi.
That means they share, eat, drink, sleep, run, talk only
women, women and women. But, sometimes you can find a
few men sneaking in and putting accross there feminine views. Saturday is one day they take the opinions and calls from the whole
of Delhi ,even men allowed. They love to be called "THE MEOW COMMUNITY".
And irrespective of you being a male or a female, when you call
in you are supposed to start with a "MEOW"- a real catty one, and
then you are greeted with a welcome tune which is highly appreciated by everyone.

After all the news we have been reading about women being
harrassed , beaten up, murdered , raped in the capital city, this is
something the city should be proud off. And here in this post i would love to share one of my very dramatic, humorous and interesting experience i was up against during my hostel days as a novice!!!

the days weren't far off when we would be giving our first engineering exams(externals)....and there was a sense of excitement, nervousness, anxiety and fidgetiness in the air. Everyone there was working hard and this hard work was increasing as the days closed in.

As the clock ticked faster than the usual , the fifteen days study holidays had almost ended....and we had our first exam - the great Mathematics. Maths is supposed to be the easiest and the most
scoring when we consider all the subjects
in the engineering course, or maybe this is true only in my case. Anyways , i was completely prepared for the exam and was just
giving the final touches to the subject ,
when the much awaited news popped into the hostel. The excitement which was already there became ten folds. "The paper had been leaked from the university and someone in our
hostel had it. "

thus the most gruelling marathon i had ever run began.....
Don't know how but the word was that i had one of the copies!!! from six in the evening to one in the night, it was believed that my friend and me had the copies. And during that time there was utter chaos ,drama , diplomacy in the hostel. even the strangers
who had not been to my room ever since i had been there
now wanted to spend as much time with me as possible. And now they wanted to study maths in my room, ask me doubts regarding the subject and have all the senseless conversation which was ever possible during that time. As the time passed by i could see my final touches become a nightmare. But slowly and steadily it got over, but the news of me having the paper had already spread like hot pan cakes, and it was far from getting over .
My friends who considered mathematics as a symbol of Adinkra were continuously crowding in front of my room....desperate to have a look at the paper which i supposedly had. And i could only see this situation getting worse as time passed by. Finally i decided to go off to sleep...earlier than usual.

it has been almost a year and i suppose no one knows who had the paper......
but i take it in a positive way.... maybe because this made me mentally tougher, a harder nut to crack, much more sensible, provided me the correct path to choose the right friends and become a better person!!!!

dream -> These are my views and they do not have any resemblence to anyone living or dead
and are not meant against any community.

ok so we all have heard that Bangalore,India is an awsome place to be, to live,it's the IT hub of India, wonderful climate and bla bla bla......it was a year back that i took admission here for engineering in M S RAMAIAH INSTITUE OF TECHNOLOGY(MSRIT), and i put my foot forward to give you the insight on the city.

it was in the morning that i left for Bangalore, had to catch a flight at 11:00 A.M in the morning. so dad dropped me there at Delhi airport and i was in the IT ciity by 4 in the evening. with all the blessings i had gathered in the past 2 days from parents, friends and relatives i had set out to give my final entrance exam(thank god) :COMED-K. when i was out of the airport i was greeted by a cool breeze brushing my hair all over the place, it was a wonderful climate with temperature around 25 degrees.....while at that time temperature in Delhi was around 35 degrees. a big relief indeed!!!!

next day i had exam, so i decided to stay inside my dad's guest house, do some reading, watch television and take rest. that day i slept pretty early at 11:30 and woke up next day early morning, took a quick shower and got ready in time. half an hour before the exam was supposed to commence we were allowed to get into the examination room. it had rained just before our exam had begun, so it was a wonderful weather...a perfect one to bring out the best from a person immensely drowned in all kinds of worldly pressures and thoughts. this time i had to do well ,almost all my results were out and i did not see myself going in a respectable college. it was a do or die situation for me.thankfully exam went just fine.
after the exam, in the evening i took a few rounds of the locality where i was staying, and left the city that day only, confident of getting admission there. i was so influenced by the city(especially climate) that the moment i reached home i had already declared that i am going there and was ready to take admission in any college.

2 months in the Ramaiah college....Bangalore was still the same place, nice chilled breeze, 25 degrees temperature and a lot of greenery. Before i had left home, my mother was always talking about a market place called 'M.G ROAD'. so we (a few new friends and me) decided to explore the place. And believe me that place can be best described as very conjusted, a short straight stretch of road with all the majour brands like Nike, Reebok, Levis all hooked up at one place on either side of the road. i was depressed to hear that this is the only and the most happening place in Bangalore, because it was way way below my expectations. ok,i agree commercial street is also good , but once you are there it won't take you much
time before you realise that it is meant for girls. all the hype that was created around me about MG ROAD being a happening place seemed to fade away in the cool breeze. yeap, indeed a lot was happening there....a few beggars who were ready to chase us down till we reached hell, vehicles passing through the market place, good quality road but very narrow and thus a lot of traffic chaos with a lot
of pollution.

a view of MG ROAD in the night.Bangalore Metro's construction has begun here and i hope it brings some comfort to the already conjusted and polluted roads .

so you want to have some fun guys after giving those creepy internals - lets go out to watch the latest Hollywood release. WAIT!!! the cheapest ticket you will find there for a movie is 100(average) and if you are going to the best theatre in town you gotto have 200(average) bucks. this was at MG - BRIGADE ROAD. PVR'S at Forum(a mall) has been established in such a corner that you will be paying the same amount for travelling as you will be paying for watching the movie, problem being it is the only theatre in Bangalore, classified into the category of affordable yet comfortable. it's very difficult to travel in buses, though conductors are very helpful and Karnataka is the first Indian state to keep women as conductors. All the names and indications in the bus stops and buses are only in Kannada, and once i tried going to M G by bus it took me 1.5 hours, for which an auto would have taken a maximum of 40 minutes. Auto charges are also high as compared to other cities, but they will always go by metres, they charge Rs. 6 per km.

this is Garuda Mall. Forum,Garuda and Sigma are the only malls in Bangalore.

Next time i was there at MG was with a localite,he told me Bangalore was famous for three things 1. weather - i completely agree on that.
2. pubs
3. nightlife

Believe me, i have never heard or seen any pub or a disk being open after 11....so no party guys, time to go off to sleep.....good night. And yes Bangalore has a few good pubs but they are not meant for everybody. though, you have to give full credit to the Bangalorians -for being very polite, helpful, smart , caring , down to earth , vibrant and they no how to take care of guests or in my case new commers in the city but there is one thing which i have noticed and that is they do not know how to carry themselves....there dressing sense is just below average. i would give them 2 of 5. All of them love reading and they sleep early to wake up early morning and boozing seems to be a very common sight here. The IT capital of India that becomes a gutter in the monsoons, has an ever increasing slums and poor population and is collapsing under the weight of its burgeoning population. Not such a nice place to live any more.

this place is buzzing with all famous rock bands like Aerosmith,Iron Maiden and many more and that is because it has more than 50 colleges in and around Bangalore....

this is becoming a common sight at Bangalore roads.

maybe Bangaloreans know it better or i haven't been to the right places to see the real Bangalore.......
it's been a year since i have joined my college and as the days pass by, i am glad to say "it's just 3 more years till i leave this place".

India's habbit - spin the world!!!

From pictorial cricket in the movie 'LAGAN' to real life cricket, indian spinners have been spinning everywhere. India has a reputation of producing some world class spinners...Anil Kumble,Harbhajan Singh,Maninder Singh to name a few. In the movie 'LAGAN' a character named 'KACHRA' does the trick for a small indian village team against the british team...he makes huge contributions by bowling a few spin. This shows India has been producing spinners since British rule...hehe!!! Thus, India's contribution to the cricketing world can not be forgotten....

Harbhajan Singh has been there with Indian team for the past 10 years...and since then he has not looked back....

Test Debut: India v Australia at Bangalore, 3rd Test, 1997/98
Latest Test: India v Australia at Mumbai, 1st Test, 2001/01
ODI Debut: India v New Zealand at Sharjah, Coca-Cola Cup, 1997/98
Latest ODI: India v Zimbabwe at Harare, 3rd ODI, 1998/99

jubilant Harbhajan Singh after his hatrick.

his hatrick against Australia must be his best achievement till date...Harbhajan Singh became first Indian to claim a Test match hat trick on the opening day of the Kolkata Test. Harbhajan first got Ricky Ponting plumb in front off the first ball of his 16th over. He then had the dangerman Adam Gilchrist also LBW and then completed his hattrick when Shane Warne offered a sharp chance at Forward Shortleg which was brilliantly taken by Sadagoppan Ramesh.

Anil Kumble, best and the most succesful Indian spinner till date. he has many records in his name, and is still serving Indian team with same enthisiasme as ever before.

Test debut England v India at Manchester - Aug 9-14, 1990
Last Test England v India at Nottingham - Jul 27-31, 2007
ODI debut India v Sri Lanka at Sharjah - Apr 25, 1990
Last ODI Bermuda v India at Port of Spain - Mar 19, 2007

Anil Kumble after scoring his first century against England.

He relies more on accuracy, variations and bounce than spinning the ball.
Kumble is one of the only two bowlers ever (the other being Jim Laker) to have taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings. Kumble achieved this against Pakistan in the second Test played in New Delhi between 4 February and 8 February 1999.

he has taken more than 500 wickets in his carrier and presently he is at the third spot for the most wickets in test matches. And he is the only player in the world to score a century and take 500 wickets.Shane Warne,Australia has highest of 99 runs, though he has more wickets than Kumble.

Players of Indian origin(spinners in particular) have been a part of forein teams as well.Monty Pansar for England and Jeetan Patel for New zealand have done very well in the past.

India has not only produced excellent batsman like Tendulkar's and Ganguly's....but we have also produced some excellent world class spin bowlers as well!!!

'JAI HIND'

hahaha!!! hehehe.... haha!!!

intelligent blonde????

A blonde is on a plane sleeping when the guy next to her says, "Let's play a
game." border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5095878718011335730" />
TADA court on 31st july 2007 sentenced Sanjay Dutt to 6 year rigourous imprisonment....and its been a tough time for his family and friends since then. His fans, bollywood and political leaders have come out in full support...they say
that he has already suffered a lot....and a few have come out in full support to the courts decision.

Sanjay Dutt was found guilty for illegally possessing three AK-56 rifle, a pistol and ammunition during the bombings in Mumbai in 1993 that claimed the lives of 257 people.

MY POINT OF VIEW......
thank god after a dozen of years finally trial for Mumbai(Bombay at that time) bombings has come to an end. though it has come as a relief to a few and pain for others....perhaps the most debatable topic in this fiassco will be 6 year imprisonment to bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. though the only positives for him in this outcome will be that he has already served a jail term of 1 year and 4 months...that leaves him with 4 more years and 6 months.

this is one question i would like to be put up in front of Sanjay Dutt's supporters :
k...i agree he has suffered a lot...but dont you think he is bound to suffer more for taking lives of 257 indians???

what now....as per our judicial system goes he has rights to appeal in supreme court...and i suppose he should go for it....y not, one has all the freedom in the world to excercise the rights framed by our constitution.....but at the same time he should not repent his past,he should be calm, composed and never lose hope that this will dent his image as a succesfull bollywood actor .this should definitely serve him a few lessons for the future...and will send a message to all his fans and fellowmen who look to him as a re-inventor of so called 'gandhigiri' or as a role-model....one who has caused harm to can not escape the worst by doing some good for the same...it's like you give lion some food and then beat him up,you can't expect him to keep sitting patiently and wait for his death,... courts judgement will definitely play a few mind games with those who induldge or plan to in the near future in any anti-social activities ......though Sanjay Dutt has done a lot of good to the society...like charity works, movies to impart a few important lessons to the youngsters 'Gandhigiri' but legal action of the court won't be altered and he won't be spared by his past success in such fields. He should suffer for what he has done to the country and its citizens in the past, though it was a just another mistake by a less exposed and less developed mind'....and such lessons to high profile personalities will count and will make a definiite influence on the younger generation....

"for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction"
- Sir Isaac Newton

this law given by Newton applies here too. all our actions should be perfectly judged and pondered over before they are implemented in real life....else the reaction may seem to be perfectly impracticle!!!
SOURCE(S): apunkachoice.com
"JAI HIND"
